After an intensive permit procedure of almost 18 months, DH-Property has received the final permit for the large-scale transformation of the former Hotel Spinnewiel at Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indië 279 in The Hague.

With the permit granted, the next phase of the project can begin. The coming period will be devoted to technical and structural preparation, after which work is expected to start in October 2026.

The existing, badly outdated hotel and restaurant building will be extensively renovated and extended. Under the new concept, the hotel will be enlarged to 30 fully equipped hotel apartments, each with its own kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

On the ground floor, a luxury restaurant will be created, where both hotel guests and other visitors can come for breakfast, dinner and more.

Structurally, too, an extensive transformation will take place. The existing building at the front will be renovated and extended with an additional storey. The outdated buildings at the rear will be demolished entirely and replaced with new construction from the ground up.

With this combination of renovation, extension and new construction, the well-known Hague building gets an entirely new future. The building's recognisable presence on Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indië is retained, while the whole is adapted to the standards and comfort of today.

DH-Property has already started preparations for construction. The coming months will be used to make the project technically and organisationally ready, so that work can start in October.

With the redevelopment of Hotel Spinnewiel, DH-Property aims not only to add new quality to the building itself, but also to make a lasting contribution to the neighbourhood and to the hotel offering in The Hague.
